FASTER ...... STRONGER My Philosophy: Under the guidance and direction of strength and conditioning coaches Fale Poumele and Brenden Cotter, the San Marcos Football Program has one goal in mind... Produce Results. The goal for a Knight's football player is to gain explosive, powerful, and flexible hips that allow him to use his potential to the fullest on the football field. To help a player reach his fullest potential for Friday nights, Coach Fale and Cotter utilize Olympic style lifts, plyometrics and complex training together as the foundation for success. The focus of our conditioning is running based upon sprints of 110 yards or less. The program's run-first philosophy highly emphasizes change of direction, to such an extent that 60% of the run training we will do focuses solely on that one aspect. The lifting program is power-oriented and effort-driven. Each set, with repetition and exercise implementation, is for a specific reason. Attention to detail, and the completion of every drill and movement are key elements of our workouts. When players fuse a desire for excellence with their best endeavor, it is only then that a program will succeed.
